KEVIN TRUDEAU. If you've watched tv...you've seen this guy. He is the king of the infomercial. So, he's a great salesman but, is what he is selling worth buying? Kevin is controversial which is what initially drew my attention to him. I have decided to start this blog to see if living the way he suggests really has any impact on me or those around me. I will chronicle my experiences with his books, cd's, etc. and put it out there for you to form your own opinions. Wish me luck!

Introducing My Partner in Crime-The Queen of Butter & Ice Cream
So, I work full-time and since 99% of my office is male…us girls stick together. During our morning conversation I started talking about KT’s book “The Weight Loss Cure They Don’t Want You To Know About”. One of the women I work with is a Weight Watchers fanatic and the other is well…a Paula Deen fanatic. Her name is Shel and she shamelessly tells us how she and her significant other devour a stick of butter every night with their dinner. The woman even has a butter stockpile in freezer (I shudder to think what KT would say)! I always look at her with a look of disbelief and hero worship. I would never dare such a feat, just thinking about it made my buttons heave. Shel is a nice looking woman and despite her “I don’t do diets” attitude…she takes care of herself and loves food (especially butter and ice cream). However, like me, she’d like to lose a few pounds. To my surprise…Shel says she wants to do this diet and orders the drops from the same place I do. I decide then and there to use a bit of deception. At this point I can since Shel doesn’t have the book yet (she orders one that day) and I know if I tell her the truth she’d back out. So, I tell her the diet is only for 21 days and in a barebones, vague kind of way gave her a quick synopsis. The first step we do is a cleanse. I chose to do the Full Body Cleanse from Enzymatics. (Note: If you sign up at their website, they have a $3 off coupon AND Wal-Mart sells this at the cheapest price I’ve seen…around $16.00). That cleanse takes about 2 weeks and no you are NOT living on the toilet. Shel and I then buy some of the supplements KT recommends. We choose Bob Barefoot’s Okinawa Coral Calcium (no, we didn’t know about the affiliation with him and KT, its just what was there), Jarrow Formula’s Acetyl L-Carnitine 500 and Life-flo’s Power of Krill Omega 3. While at the store, we also pick up boxes of organic green tea and Yerba Mate tea. I even convince Shel to buy a scale…yes, Butter Queen doesn’t own a scale. We decide to start the diet on Tuesday, May 11th, because we are due in company headquarters in Georgia for a business meeting at the end of April. Our anticipation level and dread mount as the day to begin the KT HCG diet approaches!
